G . F Smith has been obsessed with the beauty and potential of paper for over 135 years. In 1885, George Frederick Smith, commercial traveller, entrepreneur and devotee of fine stationery, founded the company, setting up offices in London and Hull, and venturing around the world in search of the finest papers, determined to turn his passion project into one of the most celebrated suppliers in the United Kingdom. In the century that followed, G . F Smith became recognised as one of the great innovators in paper, and today, is firmly established as the supplier of choice for creative and design industries in Britain and beyond. With a reputation built on uncompromising quality, creativity and service, it is the birthplace of the revolutionary Colorplan range, and the go-to resource for designers in search of beautifully crafted paper for print projects and packaging.
Zetteler has a long-standing relationship with G . F Smith – both as paper fans and as communication collaborators. We worked closely with G . F Smith to support the launch of its bold new visual identity in 2015, as well as participating in a range of major initiatives – including the publication of the definitive paper-selector tool the Collection and the opening of G . F Smith’s ‘paper palace’ in central London, Show Space. We’re delighted to be teaming up with the team again in 2023, helping G . F Smith build further on its extraordinary legacy of innovation in paper and – quite literally – pushing the envelope in stationery.
As part of its quest to find the World’s Favourite Colour, G . F Smith asks six figures from the worlds of art, design and fashion to posit their favourite colours.
