Founded in 1926 in Sandefjord, southeastern Norway, Jotun is now one of the world’s biggest paint companies, found on interior and outdoor walls in more than 100 countries around the world. With a long tradition of ground-breaking research and colour innovation, Jotun is renowned for both the aesthetics of its decorative paints and the protection and durability its powder coatings offer – which is why it has become the paint brand of choice for many of the world’s landmark buildings. Over the years, Jotun has painted the Eiffel Tower, the Petronas Towers, the Burj Khalifa and dozens more. As well as being one of the country’s industrial giants, the company is actively involved with Norway’s creative scene and has been an influential partner in international exhibitions of Norwegian design, including Zetteler clients Structure and Everything is Connected.
Through our work managing publicity for Norway’s contributions to Milan Design Week, we worked alongside Jotun for several years. So, when they asked Zetteler to help with the international launch of their 2017 colour card – the summation of their colour research and global trend insight, featuring interiors styled by Kråkvik & D'Orazio – we jumped on board. We worked with Jotun’s decorative paints team to provide editorial and publicity support as they revealed the colours that reflect modern living.
