Based in Sussex, Studio Ore designs, makes and hand-finishes the most characterful range of brass taps and bathroom fittings in the UK. Born of founder Daniel Lee’s love of aged Victorian bath taps – and the fact that there was no modern design equivalent – the company specialises in the industrial styles formed from unlacquered brass, which means that its products acquire a distinctive patina over time. Daniel’s first set was made for his own home in 2015, but as the interior-design world picked up on his creation and commissions started trickling – and then pouring – in, he established Studio Ore to meet the demand. Now making and distributing taps for baths, basins and kitchens as well as showerheads and other bathroom fixtures – all painstakingly finished by hand in the Ashdown Forest – the studio is rapidly becoming the go-to British designer-maker for anyone looking for precision-tooled plumbing with authentic human character that will last a lifetime.

WHAT WE DID FOR Studio Ore
A confession: we’d never been excited about taps until Studio Ore came along. However, thanks to a combination of the elegant industrial design, material honesty and evolving nature of its products, we soon found ourselves looking at our own polished chrome fittings with resentment. Zetteler is therefore highly excited to be working with Daniel and his passionate team as Studio Ore extends its product line into new materials, finishes and styles.
Much of the beauty in Studio Ore’s unlacquered brass fittings can be found in their intricate making process. A visit to the brand’s studio shows how it’s done.
