What Matter_s

Organised by Southern Sweden Creatives, Form/Design Center, SPOK, and the Art and Science Initiative, What Matter_s is an initiative to bring together ten experimental and provocative design studios and ten innovative material researchers working in the southern Swedish region of Skåne. Over six month these ten pairs have collaborated on the exploration of cutting-edge materials that could change the future of design and science. Each of the designers has been tasked with helping to visualise the scientists’ complex research while gaining valuable access to new non-commercialised materials that could help them solve future design challenges. A group exhibition of the results is due to be exhibited during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven between 20 and 28 October 2018.

What Matter_s commissioned Zetteler Films to travel to southern Sweden to capture the ground-breaking multidisciplinary collaborations between the project’s ten cutting-edge designers and scientists. Directed and filmed by Zetteler's Andy Dunn, we have produced a series of short videos and still photographs to introduce the project via social media, as well as a longer, more in-depth film to document the broader initiative and ambitious collaborations of What Matter_s.
