During the last five weeks I’ve set up camp at team Zetteler’s East London studio and engrossed myself in the vibrant array of friends, clients and creations being prepared to exhibit during Clerkenwell Design Week. Between (probably) hundreds of cups of tea, I’ve watched Sabine’s team support creative heavyweights such as Max Fraser, Benjamin Hubert and Katie Treggiden as they join forces with local multidisciplinary destination Clerkenwell London to create engaging and cohesively curated displays for the design thirsty crowds of the eagerly anticipated design festival.
Most excitingly, I have watched the likes of emerging creative talents such as Kia Utzon-Frank, Marta Bordes, Katharina Eisenkoeck, Novocastrian and Seetal Solanki take centre-stage in the world’s design press thanks to Zetteler’s hard work. As well as showcasing their groundbreaking concepts and philosophies, these inspiring creatives have received brilliant feedback and acclaim from the global media.
Having featured Tree Couture, Kia’s KUFcakes and Layer founder Benjamin Hubert’s 3D-printed GO wheelchair in its “10 Things to See At Clerkenwell Design Week 2016" article, Azure describe KUFcakes as “a pretty piece of sculpture [that] is actually a delicious dessert.”
Meanwhile, Anya Lawrence took the time to interview Benjamin Hubert about his life-changing wheelchair design for Disegno. Stating that, “GO presents an alternative to the one-size-fits-all model of NHS prescribed wheelchairs by responding to the individual needs of wheelchair users with a customisable design.” Anya took the opportunity to ask the industry leading designer about the value of research-led design.
One of London’s most read publications and news sites, Evening Standard’s Homes & Property described Clerkenwell London as “a capacious “hybrid” design shop, restaurant and café” when including Design Undefined in its “Five London design events for May”.
Evening Standard has not been the only publication championing Clerkenwell London’s debutante CDW exhibition with Design Week and LSN both including it in their Clerkenwell Design Week must-sees.
