Officially launched in Norway in 2017, but with roots stretching back to Switzerland in 1872, Flokk is a collective of design brands at the forefront of the workplace furniture market in Europe. Its nature as a ‘house of brands’ is reflected in its name: ‘flokk' is the Norwegian word for ‘flock’, and denotes a group of individuals united by a common idea or goal – in this case, to elevate workplace furniture to the highest possible levels of design, quality and sustainability. Today, Flokk comprises nine international brands, building on its original trio of Scandinavian companies – HÅG, RH and RBM – with Giroflex in Switzerland, Profim in Poland, 9to5 Seating in the US, and Swedish designers Offect and Malmstolen. Although each is distinctive in its personality, aesthetic and approach, all nine share a proven commitment to creating environmentally sensitive furniture and pushing the boundaries of sustainable design.
When Flokk approached Zetteler with news of the latest addition to its collection – the HÅG Tion – and asked us to support the task chair’s launch, we were sold from the start. Created in collaboration with a trio of exceptional design studios (Anderssen & Voll, Big-Game and Hunting & Narud), and developed explicitly for the new era of distributed working, the HÅG Tion is Flokk’s most sustainable chair to date.
