Founded in 2019, Hortus Collective is an award-winning landscape design practice that creates gardens and landscapes that are rooted in place, shaped by ecological principles and celebrate a natural aesthetic.
Headed up by Mark Rogers and Amy Langron, the collective of like-minded designers, gardeners and makers takes a truly non-hierarchical approach to every project, and works with ambitious private clients and forward-looking public institutions.
From installing a family friendly, low-maintenance meadow in the grounds of an an Arts and Crafts style house in Sheffield to developing a sustainable masterplan for a suite of off-grid cabins in a forest in Sussex, landscape design for universities, community farms and more, Hortus Collective’s projects are driven by a thoughtful appreciation of locality, a commitment to community and a deep understanding of natural materials and plants.
Hortus Collective’s work with Clementine Blakemore Architects on Wraxall Yard, which helped to transform a derelict farm into a tranquil holiday destination in the Dorset countryside, grabbed the attention of The Architects’ Journal, RIBA, and Dezeen when it was first unveiled in 2022, and earned a spot on the prestigious Stirling Prize shortlist in 2024.
WHAT WE DO FOR Hortus Collective
Sharing a love of biodiversity and gardens with a wild side, the Zetteler team was seriously impressed by how Hortus Collective balanced environmental responsibility with ingenious design solutions. We’ll be working closely to raise the profile of the Hortus Collective team, navigate opportunities following the Stirling nomination and make further connections across the industry.
