Founded in 2015, No Isolation is a Norwegian ‘warm technology’ company with a mission to rid the world of loneliness by developing communication tools that help those affected. Involuntary social isolation profoundly affects people in every country of the world, especially those at the margins of society, such as the long-term ill, disabled or elderly. No Isolation designs and builds communication tools that enable such groups to remain connected to others and actively participate in social life. Its first product was AV1, a connected, app-linked robot avatar that allows children and young adults to maintain a physical presence in the classroom when long-term illness or disability prevents them from being there in person. AV1 was followed by the launch of KOMP, an intuitive one-button computer that enables people uncomfortable with digital technology to stay in contact with family members through video calls, photo sharing and message. Today, No Isolation’s products have been used to eliminate loneliness by thousands of institutions in the health, care and education sectors across Scandinavia, Europe and the UK.
In 2020 – a year dominated by involuntary isolation for millions – the understanding of the impact that loneliness can have finally became widespread. At a time when connection matters more than ever, Zetteler is proud to be helping a company that is leading the way in solving the problem. We’re working with No Isolation to share its knowledge of loneliness and how to combat it, and to champion their beautifully designed and highly intuitive technology in the UK.
