How do you get people to confront the stark reality of the climate crisis? Would we make better health decisions with less data to process? In the decades to come, might we grow our own clothes? Finding answers to questions like these is the driving force behind Takram, a design-innovation studio that takes the long view, working to develop ideas and designs that meet the needs of tomorrow.
Founded in 2006 by Kinya Tagawa, Takram has outposts in Tokyo, London and New York, giving it access to a worldwide network of collaborators. Never tying itself to a single industry or output, Takram collaborates with government organisations, businesses and individuals to plot probable and preferable futures, and to design the products, services and brands best suited to thrive in them. The studio’s talent lies in mapping the abstract and transforming it into the concrete, turning even the most improbable-seeming speculations into prototypes, products, brands and experiences.
Zetteler are proud to be working with the Takram team as they embark on exciting new projects in 2021 and beyond. We’re helping the studio share its stories as it expands its client base in the UK and Europe, bringing its unique forward-thinking approach to address the social, cultural and business challenges facing our world today.
The world’s at a tipping point. Takram has some ideas about what comes next.
