Opened in November 2016, Tate Edit is a unique retail space in Tate Modern’s Boiler House, giving visitors the chance to browse an ever-changing selection of products, limited editions, and favourite objects chosen by Tate staff and a rolling programme of invited ‘editors’ from a variety of artistic disciplines. The first was Jasper Morrison, who also designed the shop space in collaboration with architects Herzog & de Meuron, followed by Momoko Mizutani of Momosan Shop. The collection spans homewares, design objects, stationery, furniture and furnishings – including pieces that feature in Tate Modern’s public spaces, restaurant and members’ bar. Artworks created exclusively for Tate by a wide variety of artists including Wolfgang Tillmans, Phyllida Barlow, Hew Locke and Cornelia Parker are available to buy – many as part of the Arts Council’s interest free loan scheme, Own Art.
At Zetteler, we've been known to lose entire afternoons in Tate’s main shop, so we were beyond excited to help the Tate Modern team spread the word about their new shop (seriously, you should have heard the whoops of glee in Zetteler HQ) and we worked with Tate Edit to promote the unique product collections and guest-editor programme to everyone interested in contemporary art, design and creativity.
