Early in 2018, a group of 10 designers and studios stepped into the labs of 10 scientists at the
cutting edge of materials research in southern Sweden. None of them knew what to expect from
this cross-disciplinary hook-up – this was uncharted territory for both groups – only that, at the end of the process, they needed something to present at Dutch Design Week, in Eindhoven on 20-28 October.

Zetteler Films followed the pairings as they shared their knowledge, discovered unexpected
commonalities, learned from their contrasting approaches – and each, without exception, created
something astonishing.

This is the story of What Matter_s – a unique attempt to build a bridge between two worlds
conceived and organised by Southern Sweden Creatives, the Form/Design Center, SPOK, and the
Art and Science Initiative.
