Hackney Winter Night Shelter (HWNS) provides a hot meal and a warm bed for homeless guests while working to engage guests back into the community to find them more permanent accommodation. As a volunteer-led organisation, that does not receive any financial support from the government, the volunteers truly are the backbone of HWNS.

But what does a volunteer look like and what on earth does being a volunteer involve? This film was created to give an insight into just that, removing any anxieties or hang-ups that potential volunteers may have about signing themselves up.

Zetteler has a long-running relationship with HWNS so, naturally, this film is particularly close to our hearts. Sabine started volunteering over than 10 years ago and several members of the Zetteler team regularly volunteer for the evening, overnight and breakfast shifts.
