Colour on film: G . F Smith and the world’s favourite colour
Paper powerhouse G . F Smith is on the hunt for the world’s favourite colour. Head to worldsfavouritecolour.com and you can add yours to the gallery, while simultaneously checking out the hues the rest of the planet is swooning over. Sure, you haven’t asked anyone their favourite colour in over 15 years, but you know you’re still curious.
Being the instinctively nosey humans we are, we were thrilled when Zetteler Films was asked to capture creative industry heavyweights revealing the different colours that inspire them and the ones they’ve loved forever. Encouraging anyone and everyone to get involved in G . F Smith’s border-breaking technicolour dream, designer Bethan Laura Wood, Mulberry Creative Director Johnny Coca, architectural foodsmiths Sam Bompas and Harry Parr, artist Richard Woods and fashion designer Osman Yousefzada feature in the short film and share what their chosen shades mean to them.
Mulberry’s Johnny Coca reflects of the patriotic associations of red to both Britain — where he —, and Spain, his native country. Meanwhile, Bethan Laura Wood wears her favourite hues on her face, Sam Bompas and Harry Parr explain the major role slime green has played in their career, artist Richard Woods admits to a love affair with green and Osman Yousefzada talks fondly about his relationship with hot pink.
