Introducing The Z List: Zetteler’s shop is now open!
Guess what? We’ve only gone and opened a shop. Launching almost literally this second, The Z List is Zetteler’s all-new home for the design, art and miscellaneous knick-knacks that we’ve fallen in love with – all available to order online and have delivered to your soon-to-be-enhanced home.
It’s a simple, easy and – if we do say so ourselves – rather good-looking way of accessing creative works by some of the most talented people and studios working today. The only question, really, is: ‘Why the hell would a PR company open a shop?’
It’s not as crazy as it sounds. Well, it is; but it’s good crazy. We’ve been championing design since we began three years ago, and in that time we’ve worked with everyone from massive international brands to emerging one-man bands. Sharing genuine creative ideas and shouting about amazing people is wonderful and inspiring, but one of the frustrations we keep running into is finding a way to help smaller creative businesses who perhaps don’t have the budget for the full PR caboodle get the attention the deserve. The Z List is our solution – it gives a small, Zetteler-curated group of artists, designers and makers a cost-free platform to promote their work and sell their products. It also gives us a channel we can use to market the products we’re excited about, and – as an added bonus – it allows us to use 10% of product sales to support charitable initiatives that we are involved with or believe in. Everybody wins.

The Z List is not profit-driven. 70% of each sale goes directly to the maker; 10% goes to a nominated charity (which will change periodically), starting with the incredible Hackney Winter Night Shelter, which is especially dear to us as both Sabine and Katie volunteer there; and the last 20% keeps the Z List afloat, going towards promoting the products on our social media (including new Twitter, Instagram and Facebook channels dedicated to The Z List), beautiful product photography and styling by Yeshen Venema and Annabel Lam, and covering all the postage and packing and administrative whatnot here at Zetteler HQ.

So what’s on there? The product selection will be updated frequently as pieces sell out (they’re mostly one-offs, limited editions or small-batch stuff), and we discover new independent artists and makers we think deserve a listing, but at launch, we have prints from Nicole Heidaripour, Seb Camilleri, Heretic Studio, Mark Pavey and Alex Booker; photography fromLola Paprocka; ceramics and sculpture by Saskia Pomeroy and Rae Blunstone; vegetable-tanned leather bags from Tinct; hand-turned wooden bowls by Amy Isles Freeman; watches designed by Samuel Wilkinson for Nomad; genetically horrific sugar mice by Tom Lindow, and much more.
Take a look, buy something you love, and enjoy a lovely surge of smugness at the thought that not only have just acquired something ace, but you’re also supporting a creative and helping a good cause at the same time.
The Z List is live at the-z-list.co.uk, as well as on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Explore, enjoy and don’t be afraid to tell us if you think it’s amazing. Or rubbish. Or if there’s someone you reckon we should have on our list…
