There are plenty of great brother-sister duos out there – John and Joan Cusack, Jane and Peter Fonda, Jake and Maggie Gyllenhall… – but, as far as we know, none of them are making colourful, character-packed leather goods.
Please be upstanding then, for Ben and Rosie Broad, who have just pooled their considerable talents to launch Tinct, a new craft brand that comes bursting onto the scene with an eye-popping rainbow range of luxury leathers bags and accessories. They’re already getting lustful glances from the fashion press and their pieces have been picked up by The Conran Shop.
Splitting their time between Chichester and London, the pair have just created their debut collection of wallets, totes, shoppers and cross-body bags – all crafted in Somerset from supple, vegetable-tanned Italian leather and available in a spectrum of colour combinations.
We were introduced to them through art director Charlotte Heal of Breed London, and although Zetteler doesn’t usually go in for fashion brands (as anyone who has seen Sabine in her smock will attest), we fell a little bit in love with their vibrant colours, their dedication to craftsmanship, their creativity (check out their intro video), their enthusiasm and their story.
Tinct is our favourite kind of company – one that’s formed as a labour of love rather than a money-making mission, and one that represents a genuine team effort to make beautiful things. The world needs more of those, so we’re extremely happy to introduce Tinct to the Zetteler brand roster.
We’ll be talking to Ben and Rosie a little later this week to uncover the tale of Tinct, find out about their grand brand plans, and learn a little more about their exciting pop-up, so watch this space for the latest updates from their wonderful world of leather…
