The tactile wizardry behind Zuza Mengham’s impossibly seductive resin sculptures is a closely-guarded secret that even team Zetteler hasn’t been able to sneak a peek of, so when we received a series of behind-the-scenes shots of the London-based artist’s production process for her upcoming LDF collaboration with Laboratory Perfumes we couldn’t wait to get creative with our own shoot and inject a little Ilka & Franz magic into the mix.
Boasting a portfolio of deliciously pared-down shots for everyone from Deutsche Bank, Halifax and Graze to ThyssenKrupp, Oliver Sweeney and Studio DBD, we tasked the German/Austrian photography duo with capturing Zuza’s opulent interpretations of Laboratory Perfume’s dynamic fragrances. Perfectly poised to communicate the collaborative effort’s luxurious but contemporary voice, Ilka & Franz’s focus on clean, quirky minimalism is evident in the series of gifs we are so thrilled to be able to share.
Exhibiting at The Conran Shop in Marylebone for the duration of The London Design Festival (15-25 September), Sculpting Scent is a series of new sculptures exploring the multilayered scents of Laboratory Perfume’s genderless fragrances, including Atlas, the latest addition to the collection.
