Now open: a London Design Fair bonanza

You guessed it, Zetteler’s clients at the London Design Fair have it covered.

Provocative, experimental, playful – just three words that sum up the attitude of the designers, studios and collectives from the Netherlands involved in this year’s Dutch Stuff show. The exhibition brings together some of the most exciting creatives from the country to present the ideas that are driving design forward in the country right now. Whereas last year’s edition featured more than 60 designers, studios and collectives, this year it’s a smaller, more selective crew, including the likes of Earnest Studio, Martijn Rigters, and Bart Joachim.

Billing its inspiration as ‘this year’s most loathed material’, Material of the Year: Plastic, Beyond the Chipper features four design studios that aim to stimulate our eyes and brain using recycled plastic. Charlotte Kidger, Dirk Vander Kooij, Kodai Iwamoto and Weez & Merl melt each use waste plastic to create intriguing, quality furniture and objects while at the same time making a statement about how warped our relationship is with this ubiquitous material.

At London Design Fair, Dartmoor-based husband-and-wife duo Jeremy and Cath Brown, aka Feldspar, are exhibiting a whopping 15 new pieces, an array of additions to their bone china tableware from cereal bowls and cake stands to egg cups and candlesticks. Alongside their dainty, translucent bone china, Feldspar will also reveal limited edition mugs, made from clay dug from a 10-metre radius of their home, and prepared by hand.

Fresh from its success at Copenhagen’s CHART ART FAIR, Adorno's Now Nordic collection aims to show the parallels and nuances between five fascinating design nations – Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. Adorno – the online gallery and marketplace that’s somewhere between a city guide and a design shop – worked with five local curators to pick out some of the most unexpected, innovative pieces from their home scenes, completely throwing open what you might expect from Scandinavian design.

A major new talent search set up by the creatives behind Hole & Corner magazine, Cræftiga is a UK-wide awards programme with one overarching mission: to unearth and champion the next generation of talented, innovative and forward-thinking craftspeople. At London Design Fair you can catch the winner, Mac Collins, and finalists of this inaugural prize, and catch the freshest faces in UK craft.
