The wonderful world of Wilfrid Wood
East London-based artist and sculptor Wilfrid Wood, is one of the latest recruits to the Zetteler gang. Known for his caricaturistic portraits of anyone and everyone from celebrities to Olympic athletes (and even It’s Nice That founder Will Hudson), Wilfrid’s world is one of comedy and cultural observation. We are super excited to be able to share a great new film by Milkshake Tidalwave. Shot in his studio, the short film sees the sculptor discussing the role of appearance, upsetting people with his work and political correctness as he sculpts the head of novelist, journalist and television personality Will Self.
For those who want to get further inside Wilfrid’s wonderful world, on Saturday 1 October, 2 -6pm, Protein Studios will play host to a free plasticine workshop with the man himself. Forming part of A Graphic Art Fair, organised by They Made This, the workshop will accompany an exhibition of the sculptor’s Olympic heads, in association with It’s Nice That.
A Graphic Art Fair will feature live drawing by Charlie Patterson, Jimmy Turrell, Supermundane, Will Edmonds and Rude, as well a life art raffle with proceeds going to Refuge Charity.
