It’s difficult to refuse vibrant hues and squishy textures at the best of times. It’s impossible to refuse vibrant hues and squishy textures in the middle of a London Design Festival marathon.
We’ve good news on that front. Villa Walala, and all the squishy play that comes with it, has landed! A colourful and irresistibly soft-to-touch structure made from cushioned vinyl forms, sealed PVC inners and high-strength nylon, Villa Walala is the answer to all your LDF-related angst (YES, we love LDF too but admit it, so much to see/do/organise has the tendency send your blood pressure rocketing).
The installation has been created by textile designer turned installation artist Camille Walala and can now be found at the centre of Broadgate’s Exchange Square. Adorned with Camille’s distinctive patterns and bold hues, the malleable shapes are inflated by fans, transforming them into three-dimensional, play-inducing forms.
You can find Villa Walala on Exchange Square between 16 and 24 September.
