Woodcuts and Wilfrid: workshops at Cass

We are over the moon to be able to say that Cass’ upcoming programme of workshops features woodcut print specialist Alex Booker and plasticine mastermind Wilfrid Wood.

Alex Booker runs Booker Print House from his studios in Limehouse, where he explores the properties of ink and wood in an ongoing series of experimental works. Opening his arms to curious of the world, Alex regularly hosts workshops at his studio where individuals and small groups can come in and spend a day uncovering the intricacies of one of the world’s oldest printmaking methods. Following the popularity of his Limehouse workshops, Cast will host an introductory woodcut workshop, hosted by Alex, on 8 July 2017. Find out more here.

Alex Booker of Booker Print House

Trained at Central St Martins, Wilfrid Wood is a Hackney-based artist and sculptor whose work is recognisable to a generation. He began his career making heads for Spitting Image puppets, and today he is regularly commissioned to create pieces in his signature style for everyone from It’s Nice That and Shortlist to individuals such as social media satire king Raven Smith. On 6 May, Cass will host a workshop allowing attendees to create a portrait head out of plasticine with Wilfrid himself as the workshop leader. Find out more here.
