Space on your LDF agenda to check out the most fascinating addition to London’s not-quite-retail, not-exactly-gallery scene? Good – make sure you pay a visit to Clerkenwell London, even if you just pitstop here for a cake and a coffee (but, trust us, it’s impossible to just ‘pit stop’ here)
WHAT IS IT?
Tough question. There’s really nothing else like it. Clerkenwell London is essentially a multi-faceted design hub (and that’s not a phrase we use lightly). Its Farringdon retail and event space offers the best of contemporary creativity in homewares, fashion, jewellery, stationery, art, music, literature and more – as well as offering the finest food, wine and coffee at 155 Bar & Kitchen.
WHERE IS IT?
All over the place: on Beynon’s designjunction stand; at Tom Dixon’s Multiplex pop-up in Selfridges; and at 155 Farringdon Road, EC1R.
WHY'S IT WORTH SEEING?
Soft launched this summer, Clerkenwell London is something genuinely new – not quite a store, not exactly a restaurant, not a gallery as such, but a wonderful and constantly surprising amalgam of the three. Presenting a meticulously curated selection of design objects from just about every creative field, it’s an ever-changing snapshot of the London design scene.
